ORIGIN AND HISTORY
In Devonshire, England, in the 1800s, the Parson John "Jack" Russell terrier breed began to be used in fox hunting. The use of a fox terrier and perhaps a small beagle and bull terrier-type dogs and, terrier developed a strain he felt was best suited to accompany Foxhounds walk with them until the fox went to ground, when the terrier would pursue the fox and burrow. CARE REQUIREMENTS
