ORIGIN AND HISTORY
The stories about the origin of Newfoundland ( nicknamed" Newfie") abound and saltier than a sailor around the legend. Some say the offspring were nomadic Indian dogs; Another Viking" bear dogs"; in addition to the Labrador Retriever is a close relative; and others that this is an old Tibetan Mastiff that blood flow through the Newfie.
