Dogs with lots of hair, like poodles, tend to accumulate some hair growth in the ear canal that must be disposed of on a regular basis, preferably once a week. Ear Powder helps to tighten the hair, making it easy to remove. After the hair is removed, use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to remove any dirt or wax. All dogs, short hair, long hair, or somewhere in between, should have their ears cleaned regularly with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. If your dog develops an ear problem, he must have certain symptoms. Often times you can move your head, the ears on the floor rubbing, or scratching his ear with his foot. If you recognize these symptoms, look into your ear. If you are red or have a discharge, there may be inflammation or infection, and you and your dog should visit the veterinarian as soon as possible.
