ORIGIN AND HISTORY
Shih Tzu may have ancient roots in Tibet Lhasa Apso as little cousins, but the breed was developed and refined in China. The small "Lion Dog" Elegant and tame it is worth by the courts of China for centuries, living in luxury at the royal palace. More refined breed during the reign of Empress Dowager Cixi (T'zu Hsi, 1861-1908). After his death, the palace kennel spread, and breed began to decline in the coming years. After China became a republic in 1912, samples occasionally make their way to England and then to Norway and North America, where the breeding program has been initiated. The Shih Tzu became almost extinct in China after the communist takeover in 1949. Fortunately, some people survived seven dogs and seven prostitutes became the basis of all existing Shih Tzu now. Today, it is one of the most popular races in the world of toys.

The bun should be maintained (carefully tied with a rubber band) to keep hair out of your eyes. Many owners and breeders keep their pets and older animals coat cut short for ease of care. Life Span: The average life of a Shih Tzu is 11 to 15 years. Training: Shih Tzu can be stubborn, but patience in training from time to time will be paid. As with some other breeds toy, housetraining can be a challenge.
